These are federal minimum age requirements under the Gun Control Act. State law may impose stricter requirements. We comply with the most restrictive applicable law.
Verification Process
All firearm purchasers must present a valid, government-issued photo ID at the time of purchase or transfer. We verify age for all firearm and ammunition purchases. Online orders are verified at the time of in-store pickup or FFL transfer.
Accepted Forms of ID
- State-issued driver's license or ID card
- U.S. Passport or Passport Card
- Military ID
- Permanent Resident Card (Green Card)
Ammunition
You must be 21 or older to purchase handgun ammunition and 18 or older to purchase rifle or shotgun ammunition, per federal law and applicable state regulations.
